Collaborating closely with a local concrete contractor, we laid down a foundation of earth-tone, stamped concrete that not only looks natural and inviting but is also durable and low-maintenance. This choice was crucial for tying all the design elements together cohesively and affordably.
Ample seating is crucial for entertaining, and we maximized every inch for the Whiskey Barrel Patio. We constructed a retaining wall that doubles as extra seating using Belgard Weston Universal Stone pavers. This feature not only adds practicality but also enhances the landscape transition to the lawn, offering opportunities for both low-maintenance and colorful seasonal plantings.
Breaking away from traditional designs, we introduced a water feature at the end of the seating wall. This feature provides a serene backdrop of flowing water that enhances the patio's calming ambiance.
The inclusion of a natural gas fire pit, complete with vibrant colored glass, extends the patio's usability into the cooler months. It’s perfect for family marshmallow roasts or an evening glass of whiskey by the fire, adding warmth and a visual appeal.
At the heart of the Whiskey Barrel Patio is the outdoor kitchen, equipped with Firemagic’s Echelon Diamond Series gas grill, a stainless steel sink, and even a wine fridge—ensuring the homeowner never misses a moment of their gatherings. The pergola overhead not only adds architectural beauty but is also functional, equipped with a heating element to provide warmth during chilly evenings.
